The West Link is a railway connection in a tunnel beneath central Gothenburg. It connects commuter rail services to routes passing through the city, creating three new stations in Gothenburg. The new railway tunnel will make travel easier – train frequency can be increased, travel times shortened, and passengers can reach more destinations without transfers. The Varberg tunnel project is approximately 3.1 km long double track railway tunnel under central Varberg (2.8 km of which are rock tunnel and 300 m concrete tunnel). Accompanied by a 2.7 km long rock service tunnel which runs parallel to the railway tunnel. Both tunnels are connected by 9 connecting bypass tunnels.
The other parts of the project consist of 800 m long concrete through at the north tunnel portal, new station house, new freight yard and approximately 7.5 km of double track rail in total.
Otterhällan is the second of the five contracts being negotiated in Haga. The Otterhällan subproject consists of a rock tunnel section between the Rosenlund subproject and the Stora Hamn Canal subproject.
The contract covers a stretch of approximately 500 meters between Rosenlundsplatsen and the Hamnkanalen and consists of a double-track tunnel and two service tunnels in rock. Through the subproject, the Västlänken will pass a number of underground structures, such as the Göta Tunnel, garages and shelters, and will construct two concrete bridges.
Main work was managing, performance and processing of surveyors works at objects D01–D08 (except D02) and object A2T, first at “installations galleries” – tunnels for particle accelerator networks such as cooling; later also at ground parts of mentioned objects (including three lift shafts at D08 object) and other objects at site.
Surveyors works included mainly staking-out positions and heights of each concrete construction, including staking-out and check corresponding reinforcement for control concrete cover.
Ensuring track surface measurements, data processing and evaluation of condition/flatness, including the preparation of outputs (reports, drawings, longitudinal/cross sections, deviation maps) for maintenance and verification of requirements.
